CaFE - Catholic Evangelisation Services
Catholic Evangelisation Services was set up in 1996 under the guidance of Bishop Ambrose Griffiths in order to help Catholics respond to the challenges of the New Evangelisation. Its offices are based at the Westminster Pastoral Centre at London Colney and it currently employs four full time staff and several part-timers. Funding comes from the CREW Trust, a small charity set up to fund the work of Charismatic Renewal in the Church in England and Wales.
Catholic Evangelisation Services seeks to equip Catholics to know, live and share the Good News more effectively in their lives. It does this through the use of modern media, particularly with video and DVD resources. Catholic Evangelisation Services have learnt much from the Alpha course and have been producing professional, fresh and practical resources for Catholics. CaFE (Catholic Faith Exploration) resources for adults include:
- Baptism - helping your child get the most out of life
- Knowing God Better a mini parish mission (also Knowing God Even Better)
- Exploring the Catholic Church a series to deepen the faith of Catholics
- Catholics Making a Difference a series helping Catholics share and be the Good News in a needy world
- Drink from the Wells of the Church by Fr Raniero Cantalamessa, Preacher to the Papal Household
and many more besides.
Plugged-in Youth CaFE is a six week programme for Catholic teenagers and is ideal for Confirmation groups, schools and youth groups.
The resources are designed to be used in a ‘café style’ environment based on small groups around tables. They are very easy to use and thousands of Catholic parishes have run CaFE courses to great effect. The ultimate aim of the CaFE videos is to inspire and equip Catholics to take the Good News out of their parishes and into their families and neighbourhoods.
