5th - 7th January, Youth Outreach Training. CASE will be taking a leading role in bringing together youth workers involved in outreach initiatives rather than residential retreat centres. Initiative for the event came from the Ezekiel Project team who are based in Northampton. Charles Whitehead will be one of the main event speakers. The gathering will aim to: look at what we currently understand by evangelisation and how we act on/express that understanding, explore what's distinctive about a Catholic understanding of evangelisation, provide an opportunity for practitioners to discuss "where we go from here?", and how to be confident young Catholics who enthuse, engage and equip other young people. 20th April, Spirituality and Young People: A Day Conference. The day will be introduced by His Eminence, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor. As an ecumenical initiative, this event will bring together a number of experts on the subject of youth spirituality. Time will be allocated for prayer discussion, workshops and questions. Cost: £30. 20th -24th April, Re-Evangelising Europe: Beyond the Theory Conference for Christian leaders in Europe. Takes place April 20th –24th 2005 in the Czech Republic. The conference aims to explore the issue of how to make the
re-evangelization of Europe a concrete reality. Speakers include: Michelle Moran (Sion Community), Damian Stayne (Cor et Lumen Christi Community), amongst many others. Theme:
Pope Paul VI’s letter "Evangelii nuntiandi - On Evangelization in the Modern World” (1975). The conference will ask "What progress have we made in re-evangelizing our continent?" This conference is not intended just for people involved in evangelistic ministry, rather, it is geared towards Christian leaders who are desiring to share and find ways to see their prayer group, community, youth group, parish move “beyond the theory” towards sustainable and fruitful evangelization. 24th April, Internet Evangelism Day. Would your church, and the churches you have contact with, give time in the services on Sunday 24 April 2005 (or the nearest Sunday) to pray for the work of the UK evangelistic website www.rejesus.co.uk ? This particular Sunday has been designated internationally as Internet Evangelism Day to encourage Christians to think about the importance of sharing the Good News of the gospel on the internet and to pray for web evangelism. 27th April 27th, Healing Service at the RC National Shrine of Our Lady, Walsingham, in the Chapel of Reconciliation from 8pm to 9.30pm. It will be led by a Marist Father from New Zealand - Fr. John Rea sm. He is well known in New Zealand and Australia and beyond as having a gifted Healing Ministry.

The programme will include: praise and song, scripture readings and reflections, teaching on healing and a healing service. Availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation will depend on the presence of other priests -but it is hoped that this will be possible! Every act of evangelisation is a fruit of prayer!

20 June, The Lawyers' Christian Fellowship - OPEN Public Seminar be held at the offices of Allen & Overy, 1 New Change, EC4 (nearest Tube: St Pauls) Start 6.30pm, conclude about 8pm (refreshments available from 6.15pm) "The Mental Capacity Act and the Joffe Bill: Euthanasia in Britain?" Speakers: James Bogle and David Foster. James Bogle is a barrister who has advised on the Mental Capacity Bill and its predecessor drafts since 1995. He has appeared in a number of medically related public law cases, including the Dianne Pretty case. He is co-author of Medical Law and Ethics and is an external lecturer at St George’s Hospital Medical School. James will give an overview of the law. David Foster is a Partner at Barlow Robbins and will look at the issues from a biblical perspective.

Host: Catholic Care Leeds, Cathedral Hall, Leeds. This one day seminar will bring together directors and practitioners from Catholic charities, theologians, academics and diocesan workers to investigate different understandings of the family and how concepts of 'family' are worked out in professional and pastoral practice. A programme of keynote addresses and workshops will offer the opportunity to draw on the resources of scripture, tradition and current experience to sketch a positive way forward. The model of 'the open family' will be explored in detail as a model that enables the Church's revolutionary teaching on the family to be the Good News that families today so badly need to hear. 23rd June – 5th September 2005, ‘JOURNEY INTO PRAYER – THE SPIRITUAL LIFE IN PICTURES’, an Exhibition by Elizabeth Wang, will be held in London at the French Church, 5 Leicester Place, London WC2, just off Leicester Square (between Haagen Dazs and Starbucks). Eighteen large-scale prints of original oil paintings will be displayed. They serve as beautiful visual tools of evangelisation - spreading the Gospel through art. Entrance free.
